High Prairie, Ab.

Another Reuben down the hatch, This one came hot off the grill at Almiro’s Steak House in High Prairie and it was better than I thought it would be. That’s always a nice hey. I’ve actually had a few instances of that on this trip to High Prairie so I supposed it's really rounding into a nice week.

We’re building an indoor playground up at Peavine Metis Settlement and our site is an absolute knockout. First, it’s in a beautiful rink. Bit cold but I intend to use the ice when we return to finish the job. Also it has a pool table. Finally it has virtual Golf… so as places to build go, this one definitely exceeded expectations. 

Speaking of golf. The third instance of my expectations being rocked occurred when my good friend Booker (featured in some early blog posts) put me onto the album Son of a Golf Pro - Chip Taylor. This album blew my socks off and I went into it with very high expectations as it’s a rare day when Booker suggests a stinker. It is certainly on my shortlist for album of the year. 

Also Chip Taylor is the brother of John Voight and uncle of Angelina Jolie, both huge reuben fans from what I’ve heard.

So kudos High Prairie…  offering up a hat trick of birdies when you’re expecting par. Sports references abound amongst a decent sando!
