I think spring is here. I mean I think spring is finally here. It feels as though it has been an extra long winter this year. But some of the tell tale signs of the seasonal change over have occurred. Namely Joe (pictured bbq’ers left) and myself did our first outdoor playground job of the year! It was a sunny day in my hometown of Fort Saskatchewan, we swapped some slide components and then were fortunate enough to be able to make a pitter at the Green House Grill. The chef was my very own father, Norm (holding sign originally built as part of a Christmas gift), and I can honestly say, the reuben was exquisite. We even got to watch the chef in action as he constructed and cooked them to order. Joe noted how perfectly grilled it was saying something like ‘ooey gooey’ about the cheese. I can’t quite remember the exact quote. Oozey goozey… slippy, slappy… anyway.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a Reub that is available to the public as it is pretty tough to get a seat at the Green House Grill, but hey, now that spring has sprung you may find the chef out on the mountain bike trails, fly fishin’, or kayaking, and those venues would be the best place to butter him up for a potential Reuben!

Happy Springtime! May it be filled with budding flowers, puddles that only go to the top of the sole of your shoe, grippy roads and of course, Ruebies!
